His work is surreal and imaginative. His photography and paintings are both surreal in that his paintings are unusually colorful and vibrant. His photography is different from his paintings however, in that he makes photo montages of his photography, while his paintings are all one solid picture.
Interesting facts:
- he worked as a medical orderly in hospitals during his National Service, 1957–1959
- he is a staunch pro-tobacco campaigner
